Mr. Chuizhou Lin, former president of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute, came to Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IAMT)

Mr. Chuizhou Lin, former president of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute, came to Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IAMT) on October 15th and gave an excellent speech named “Soft Power and Innovation Competitiveness”. Rongchuan Wang and Minzhou Luo, the directors of IAMT, have attended the forum as well as the scientific backbone of IAMT staff team.

At the forum, Mr. Chuizhou Lin explains the importance of soft power in product design and industrial innovation through the comparison of the concepts and contents between the hard power and soft power and the combination with the philosophy of Lao Tzu and Confucius. He also cites a number of examples of Taiwan's industrial development process, Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute innovation practice and the success of the business case and so on. In addition, Mr. Chuizhou Lin gives a detailed analysis about why it is difficult for the renowned universities and research institutes to make the research into successful industry. The analysis includes the national science and technology innovation system and the improvement of the effectiveness of research institutes. The main idea is focusing on the proposing of the talent and motivation management concept based on the needs of incentives and the management practices of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute.

Prior to the seminar, Mr. Chuizhou Lin visits the laboratories of IAMT and looks over some excellent research results of IAMT such as welding robots, SMT and so on. He gives a highly positive comment on the achievements of scientific and technological research of IAMT and expresses his desire to strength the exchanges and cooperation between each other and hopes to do more contribution together for the Yangtze River Delta region to in industrial transformation and upgrading.
